Valuables of Shilpa

 WEEK 1 WEEK 1 @ Government Model HSS for girls, Pattom  was a rich experience as it consisted of meeting new school, teachers, new campus, students and the atmosphere. First day, I had period in the noon session and it was all about preparation of teaching and creating a rapport with students. I had the duty  at Lp section also. Second day it was all about our breakfast duty and lunch duty at school. It was a new experience for me and I really enjoyed it. Seeing children's face with smile was a moment to cherish. Second day again I had class at noon. Students were all active so the response were a huge one. Third day I had class at morning and it was all about introducing a new concept and making them write and solve problems. All together week 1 was special.

 The week was a little bit emotional for me as I was a bit hesitant to leave school which made me get used to it. I had no class on Monday as the time table got changed and i was waiting for my last class on tuesday. I took selfie with my students, gave them a brief description of all the lessons that i taught them, collected feedbacks and gave them wishes  The students too were emotional as they kept on asking me when i will be coming back. The schooling experience was altogether was a life experience as i could see the faces of our society. We bid farewell ti school on friday which had a surprise visit from our principal sir and sir checked our records, interacted with us and took selfie. I miss my kids as well as the school....... Eagerly waiting for a comeback.... Now its time to get used to college!

 The week went on with construction of quadrilaterals chapter. I had to take classes for 8G, C and K. The students were large in number on online class. I taught them about construction of squares, rectangles, parallelogram and rhombus. The hard part was to teach them on constructing different geometric patterns. But still the students would do the construction in due time. I conducted achievement test for 8G on topics money Math and ratio. Even though only 16 wrote the test most of them got above 15 out of 25 in the test. 3 got below 10,so now i have to conduct diagnostic test for them. All together the week was full of classes, tests and revisions....... I was happy that the efforts paid off as all students were cooperative.

 After a short break i got my classes for teaching. The students showed a sort of laziness at first but then they caught up with the portions. I taught them construction of quadrilaterals even though this chapter was a bit challenge for me as i couldn't watch them drawing i managed to get used to this online platform. The response of students were low but still i enjoyed teaching them as it was a new experience for me on online teaching platform. Now i understood the importance of offline teaching as it engages students and enhance face to face interaction which is important in teaching course!

 The week two comprised of my usual classes at 8G class and I was given additional periods at 10,8 and 5 th classes as well. This gave me the opportunity to mingle with different kind of students and classes. The students were all active ones and the class I liked most was the 5 th standard and 8th classes. They were all students with good responses and interactive minded. The 10 th students were engaged in their exam preparations so I could interact with these 5 th and 8th classes.  I really liked them all. On the fourth day of the week we were given the duty of memento arranging for the student recipients who passed out with flying colours from the school. It was a bit challenging one since we had to climb two floors to reach conference hall which was the venue for the program but still we did it with our full heart. All together week two was full of work and studies....

 The first day @ Cotton hill school, was a little bit confusing as well as nervous. We all reached the school by 9:00 am and we were allotted examination room temporarily for the day as the arrangements were going on. In the first day my period was 2 nd hour at 8G class. To my surprise there were only two students but i taught them the basics of money math and simple interest. The second day at school had my period at 3 rd hour and it was the second batch with 5 students but still i could manage them. All together the week was of finding blocks, classes, teachers...... Etc Hope we will get accustomed to the ways of school and premises...

 Today was the first day of criticism. Pranav, Aby and Revathy took the classes All of them took it well. Pranav took constructivist model, Aby inquiry training model and Revathy took activity oriented model. Through their class, we could learn so many things that we lacked or should be taken care of. So forenoon hours were busy with criticism classes In the afternoon, we had Ancy mam teaching statistics and Maya mam took a class on Human rights education. Then we had George sir explaining the rules of CHESS. It was informed that from Wednesday onwards official inter department chess competition will be taking place. Looking forward for the matches 😁
